Booking a Tour

– How can I book a tour?
The best way to book a tour is through our website. Pick a time and day that works for your schedule and check our availability. Then, just click book! Our customer support team are always here to answer any questions you might have through our live chat or contact us page.
If you have any special requests or would like to organise something or a large party, we’re always happy to assist over the phone or via live chat
– Do I need to book in advance or can I just turn up at the meeting point?
We do not advise you to turn up at the meeting point without a booking. Our tours often fill up quickly and we cannot guarantee that there will be space left. 
– Do you accept last minute bookings?
We will always try to accommodate last minute bookings, depending on our availability. If your preferred tour is not available, it may be sold out. Don’t hesitate to get in touch via our live chat feature or contact us, as we may be able to offer an alternative tour or recommendation for you!
– I am unable to book a tour
If you have any issues booking one of our tours, do not hesitate to contact us via our live chat or contact us page.

Confirmation & Vouchers

– When will I receive confirmation of my booking?
You should receive a confirmation email with your confirmation voucher within minutes of booking 
– I did not receive a confirmation email

Please check your junk and spam folders just in case. If you can still not find anything, please contact our customer support team. 
– Do I need to bring my confirmation voucher with me?

It is not necessary to print your confirmation voucher and bring it with you. However, we do recommend bringing it with you as it contains useful information and directions to your meeting point. 
– Do I need to confirm my tour?
You do not need to reconfirm your tour. Your booking will be confirmed instantly and your voucher is proof of this. You will receive an email with your voucher within minutes of booking.

Cancellations and Amendments

  • How can I amend my booking?

    To amend a booking, please contact our customer support team via live chat, phone or email. If your tour was booked through a third party, please contact them to amend your booking.

  • When can I amend my booking?

    Amendments must be made at least 24 hours before the start time of the tour. Any bookings made in the 24 hours before the date of the tour may be amendable, but may incur a charge.

  • Can I add a person/people to my booking?

    Of course! Please contact our customer support team and we will be happy to assist. This will of course depend on our availability.

Colosseum Tour FAQs

– Does the Colosseum tour include entrance tickets?
Yes, all our Colosseum tours include entrance tickets to each place advertised.
– Do you visit the Palatine Hill and Roman Forum on the Colosseum tour?
Most of our Colosseum tours visit the Palatine Hill and Roman Forum, with the exception of our Colosseum express tour and the Colosseum Underground Night Tour
– Can I take photos on the tour?
Yes, you will be able to take photos on the tour. We also like to give you time after each tour where you can take further photos.
-What can I bring with me to the Colosseum?

Only small bags will be allowed inside. Large bags or suitcases will not be allowed inside. Prohibited items include scissors, pocket knives, aerosols and liquids, even if less than 100ml (except for water).
– What size are the groups?

Our group sizes generally range from 5-20 but can vary depending on the tour and time of year. We always try keep our group sizes as small as possible to provide a more personal experience.
– Where does the tour meet?

We meet at the Arch of Constantine 15 minutes prior to the tour. You will find us holding a Carpe Diem Rome sign! If for any reason you can’t find the meeting point, please call the number on the voucher and we will be able to assist you.
– Can I bring a stroller/pram on the tour?

Yes, you can bring a stroller/pram on the tour. However please beware that there are many steps on both tours which may be difficult with a stroller. Please try alternative options to a stroller/pram if possible.
– Will my tour still go ahead in the rain?

Yes, our tours will go ahead rain or shine!
– Do you offer tours in other languages?

Yes, we offer tours in English, German, Italian, French, Portuguese and Spanish.

Vatican Tour FAQs

– Is there a dress code for the Vatican?
It is very important that knees and shoulders are covered when entering the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. Please do not wear hats inside St Peter’s Basilica.
– Does the Vatican tour include the Sistine Chapel?

Yes, all our Vatican Museums tours include the Sistine Chapel. However, your guide will not be able to talk inside the Sistine Chapel. Instead they will provide a detailed explanation prior to entering.
– Can I take photos on the tour?

Throughout most of the Museums and in St. Peter’s Basilica it is possible to take photographs. However, photography is strictly prohibited inside the Sistine Chapel.
– Does the tour include tickets?

Yes, all of our tours include entrance tickets to each place advertised!
– Can I bring a stroller/pram on the tour?

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate stroller/prams on our group tours. However, it is possible to bring them on our private Vatican tours.
– Can I bring a bag inside the Vatican?

Only small bags are allowed inside the Museums. Any bag larger than 40cm x 35cm x 25cm will not be allowed inside. If you do have a bag larger than this please call us prior to the tour and we may be able to arrange storage for you.
– Do both the morning and afternoon tours have the skip-the-line feature?

Yes, all of our Vatican tours include priority entrance tickets which means that we only have to go through a short security check.
– Is it possible to arrange a tour at a time that is not available on the website?

It may be possible to arrange a private tour at an alternative time that is not available on the website. Please contact our customer support team via the live chat, telephone or email. 
– Do you offer the tours in other languages?

Yes, we offer tours in English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian.
– Are the Vatican Tours accessible for people with a disability?

The Vatican Museums offers free tickets to those with disabilities exceeding 74%. Please show the required documentation to our staff. After the tour you can contact our customer support team and we will reimburse you for the cost of the ticket. Unfortunately due to the itinerary, we are unable to accommodate wheelchair users on our Vatican group tours. Our Private Vatican Tours can fully accommodate wheelchair users. Can wheelchairs be provided for a private tour of the Vatican Museums?
– Can I bring my own wheelchair?

The Vatican can provide wheelchairs, you will just need to send a request to the Vatican before your visit. Please send an email to accoglienza.musei@scv.va Wheelchairs are free of charge. If you require any assistance with this, please contact our customer support team.

  • Do I need to bring my confirmation voucher with me?

  • What time should I arrive at the meeting point?

    We ask that you arrive to the meeting point 15 minutes before the tour is due to begin. This allows time for everyone to get checked-in and enables the tour to start on time.

  • Where do I meet with my tour and guide?

    The meeting point differs from tour to tour. Upon booking you will receive a confirmation voucher containing the exact meeting point. If for any reason you can’t find the meeting point, please call the number on the voucher and we will be able to assist you.

  • Do I need to bring ID?

    Yes, please bring a valid form of ID for all tours that enter inside Museums or galleries, such as the Colosseum and Vatican Tours.

  • Will the tour run even if it is raining?

    Our tours will operate no matter the weather!

  • What If I’m running late to my tour?

    We ask that you arrive to the meeting point 15 minutes before the tour is due to begin. This allows time for everyone to get checked-in and enables the tour to start on time. If you are in any way delayed, please call us as soon as possible and we will try to assist you. However, majority of our tours will need to enter on a timed ticket, so it is not always possible for the tour to wait for your arrival.

  • Do you offer tours in other languages?

    Yes, we offer tours in English, German, Italian, French, Portuguese and Spanish. Not every single tour can be offered in all of these languages. Please check each product and contact us if you have any questions 

  • Are we entitled to a refund if we cancel our tour?

    We have a 24 hour cancellation policy, so you are entitled to a full refund if you cancel 24 hours before the date of the tour. Due to limited ticket sales and the allocation of a single ticket linked to each person, All sales on Colosseum products are final.

  • Can we book the tour privately?

    Yes, we offer all our tours privately. Check out our ‘Private Tours’ section! If you require a custom tour please contact us.

  • Is your food tour suitable for people with dietary requirements?

    Our food tour contains several stops offering meat and dairy, however we may be able to amend out tours to accommodate certain dietary requirements. Please call us before and we can try our best to help!

  • What size are the groups?

    Our group sizes generally range from 5-20 but can vary depending on the tour and time of year. We always try keep our group sizes as small as possible to provide a more personal experience. The vast majority of our tour groups are under 12 people in size.

Covid-19 FAQs

  • Are tours operating as scheduled?

    The vast majority of our tours are running as planned, and we always do our best to keep it that way. However, due to current circumstances, some venues may be subject to last minute closures.

  • What is a Covid ‘Green Pass’ and do I need one?

    From August 2021, anyone in Italy must show their covid Green Pass upon entering restaurants, museums, gyms, cinemas and many more indoor spaces.  For our tours at the Colosseum, Vatican and any other indoor spaces, all visitors must bring a valid form of ID along with documents relating to the Covid Green Pass, which can be as follows: “- that they have received at least one dose of one of the vaccines authorized by the EMA or AIFA (Comirnaty by Pfizer-BioNtech, Vaxzevria by Astrazeneca, Janssen by Johnson & Johnson and Moderna) or have tested negative to a molecular or rapid swab in the last 48 hours or have recovered from Covid19 in the previous six months. COVID-19 Green Certification is not required for children excluded by age from the vaccination campaign (under 12 years of age) and those exempt on the basis of appropriate medical certification.”*

  • What new measures have been taken to ensure the safety of participants on the tours?

    When entering venues, visitors may be subject to regular temperature checks. All visitors must wear a face covering in all indoor spaces during our tours. We also adhere to all social distancing measures.
